There’s a small difference in the name, but is there a big difference in principle? Well, yes, actually. Let’s get into it.
WordPress.com is a browser-based service that doesn’t cost any money to create simple websites. It’s known to be simpler to use, but unfortunately, with that, it has its drawbacks. There is a lack of flexibility and lack of being able to customize things as deeply as you can with WordPress.org. For that reason, it’s mainly used for simple sites like a blog.
WordPress.org is like the big sibling of the two. It’s the more sophisticated program between the two of them. You can pay for this downloadable service, but it is also thankfully available for free. You can customize a lot more in this version of the software with better in software options and custom plug-ins you can add yourself. Overall, it’s just more flexible.
It’s up to you to decide which is best for you, but either way you’re going to end up with a website in the end of the day!
