In 2018, content creator Tana Mongeau decided that she was fed up with mainstream influencer conventions like Vidcon and such. She felt that they were very money hungry, unsafe for both fans and creators alike, etc. The solution? She was going to host her own convention that would be better than anything another convention offered.

Well, it didn’t really work out that way…

First of all, the convention center that she rented for the event had a 1,000 person capacity, but she had sold thousands of tickets. Then, there was nothing to do inside of the event. There were even pictures of an empty convention hall with nothing but a small ball pit. It was also extremely hot that day and many of the convention goers were stuck outside for hours and got severely sunburnt while waiting, and eventually, never getting in because the convention was just shut down because of how epically it failed and how the lack of food, water, and security combined with the sun created unsafe conditions.

I don’t think anyone has tried anything similar since then, and I hope they don’t because it was dangerous. A little funny, though, because Tana was never known to be the most reliable person, so why would you spend so much money on a ticket for an event that you have no idea if it is going to be good or not?

Oh well, at least they have a story to tell!
